"I started the food assistance program back in 2020 during the height of COVID. I saw that it was really affecting the immigrant/foreigner community since we held jobs in industries that had many restrictions. I knew that when people are hungry they make bad decisions and may take on a predatory job. I knew that there was enough food in our community to share, so I started hosting food drives and shipping out food to people in need. The program has grown since then, but it remains strictly a mutual aid grassroots program. We receive no money from the government. We solely rely on food donations from the community, fundraising through my jewelry sales, and raising money through community events."
